IMG_4188Refering to Thich Nhat Hanh , a buddhist monk , is a real pleasure .

His reflections are so simple , basic and built on total awareness.

Hope you enjoy reading this little ” amuse mind ” as much as I do πŸ™‚

When you are dealing with pain , with a moment of irritation , or with a bout of anger , you can learn to treat them gentle.

Do not fight against pain ; do not fight against irritation or jealousy.

Embrace them with great tenderness, as though you were embracing a little baby.Β 

Your anger is yourself and you should not be violent toward it .

The same thing goes for all your emotions.

So we begin with the breath. Be nonviolent with your breath. Be tender with it .Respect it, and let it be as it is, mindful of the fact that it is there .

Then we move to the physical body . In practicing sitting and walking meditation , in practicing total relaxation , you embrace your physical body with the energy of mindfulness, with great tenderness and nonviolence.

This is the practice of true love in relation to your body .

Don`t turn yourself into a battlefield, with good fighting against evil.

Both sides belong to you , the good and the evil . Evil can be transformed into good and vice versa.

They are completely organic things .

Mind Calm

IMG_3051Simplify your life.Clear the clutter:)

Is your life way too complicated for you to be contented ?

No fun or fulfillment is possible if you continue to drive yourself so hard that you have no time or space to enjoy what you have.

The endless pursuit of possessions and prestige needs to end, leaving in its place a simplified and humble life.

As a general rule, the less you are possessed by possessions, the more mind calm you will enjoy.

So much time is taken up managing a complicated life that you can end up chasing your own tale.

Complexity can end up burning your body out, busying your mind and suppressing your spirit.

In essence , if you want mind calm on the inside it helps massively to simplify your life on the outside.

1) Buy less stuff

2) Clear the clutter

3) Downsize where possible

4) Switch off your TV , computer, phone for at least one hour every day

5) Eat real food which is free from man made extras

6) Drink more water and less stimulants and alcohol

7) Do absolutely nothing for a few minutes every day

Food For The Mind

IMG_4234When you plant lettuce and it does not grow well,

you don`t blame the lettuce.

You look for the reason it`s not doing well.

It may need fertilizer, or more water, or less sun .

You never blame the lettuce.

Yet , if we have problems with our friends or family, we blame the other person.

But if we know how to take care of them , they will grow well, like the lettuce.

Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade , using reason and argument.

That is my experience.

No blame , no reasoning, no argument, just understanding.

If you understand and you show that you understand, you can love and the situation will change.

The tools of Yoga & Meditation will enable you to “listen ” to your thoughts, you will get a close – up look into the actual root of your fear ( called stress ) and discover why you are afraid.

After you`ve witnessed the thoughts that are creating your fear ( stress ) , accept them .

We all have them ; it`s part of being human .

When you realize what frightens you, whatever it is will soon loose power over you.

My little workshop gives you the opportunity to learn how to relax even in the most stressful situations.

There was a time when I thought peace was a destination , in much the same way as I imagined I`d eventually arrive at happiness or success.

It seemed like something I needed to chase or find – definitely not something I could experience without dramatically changing my life.

I needed to work less, relax more and generally revamp my circumstances and relationships in order to be a peaceful person.

Despite seeing peace as an endpoint, I also saw it as something passive, after all , that`s why I was so stressed: I had sooo much to do , before relaxing into peace πŸ™‚

I`v esince realized that peace is always available and like any desirable state of mind, it requires effort, even if this effort entails consciously choosing to be still.

Sure , our circumstances affect our mental state, but they don`t have to control them , not if we make choices for our well being.

Admittedly, it is not easy to choose peace when we`re going through tough times.

I stilll experience periods when I get caught up in worries and stresses and it can feel like that`s the only available response to things that have happened.

But it`s not.

There are countless things we can do to create peace of mind – both in response to events in our lives and proactively every day.

Create som space for yoga in your life and experience increasing life quality based on a more peaceful mind.
